Pastor Larry was born June 29, 1946, he is a Dallas native and attended DISD Public Schools. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964. He attened El Centro and Mountain View Colleges where he studied Business Management. He attended Phillips School of Theology (The ITC: Interdenominational Theological Center) in 1994 and graduated in 1997.


   Pastor Larry has been a life long member of the Kirkwood Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church of Dallas, Texas and has served in ministry tirelessly in the CME Connection for 35 yrs. Shortly after accepting the call to preach, in November 1977 he received his local preacher license. He was elected and ordained Deacon in 1978 and ordained Elder in 1980 and brought into Full Connection.

Ever busy, Pastor Larry serves as the President of the Greater North Texas C.M.E. Alliance, which has sponsored “Good Friday” services for the last ten years. He is currently a member of the African American Pastor’s Collation, and past affliations with other minister alliances in the Greater Dallas area, member of the Interdonomational Ministerial Alliances of Dallas, Ennis, Waco and Plano areas. He also serves on the CME Ministerial Examination Committee of DFW/Regional Conference, the process for examining all ministers in the CME Church.

    Pastor Larry has pastored a total of five CME Churches in the Dallas/Fort Worth Conference. He is currently the proud Pastor of  Bullock Chapel CME Church in Dallas, Texas where he’s served since 2005.  Pastor Larry belief  is you pastor a community so he gives of himself to the community at large; for the last ten years he has sponsored a “Back to School Hair/Barber Clinic” which offers free hair styles and school supplies to school-aged students returning to school (serving over 200 youth each year). He has led the church in implementing, an Annual Harvest Festival, Drama Ministry, Ministry to Men’s Ministry, and One Church, One School. He also participated in 14-1 campaign (which brought single member districts  to the City of Dallas), as well as other social and political initiatives.  


     Pastor Larry is married to the former Betty Bonner. They have six children Khevin D Johnson, Caron Larry Sneed, Timothy James Larry, Monica Paris Calvin), Charles L Brooks, Nigel Brooks. They are also proud grandparents of six, D’Maya and Deandra Wheaton, and Jasmine, Justin, and Jessica Daniels and Kennedi Paris and a God grandson  named “Foxx”.  


    He enjoys being referred to as “Pastor Larry” for that’s what God called him to be. His favorite scripture is; Where there is no VISION the people PERISHProv. 29:18a.
